Northeast Wisconsin Area Property

Northeast Wisconsin is about as “up north” as it gets with thousands of lakes and rivers to draw fishermen, skiers, and silent sports enthusiasts alike. Wildlife abound in these rolling hills and forests sprinkled with lakes—Mercer is the “Loon Capital of the World” while the village of Boulder Junction is the “Musky Capital of the World.” Three Lakes was recently voted the “Single Best Small Town in America” and it sits aside the world’s largest chain of inland lakes.

And, of course, Northeast Wisconsin is also home to Door County, a gorgeous peninsula in Lake Michigan filled with cherry orchards, wineries, restaurants, Friday night fish fries, and family resorts. And who could forget Green Bay, home of the Packers. The whole place has the air of vacation.

There are many lake cabins and log homes for sale here as well as bare land for hunting or recreation. Other notable towns in this region include Rhinelander, Arbor Vitae, Minocqua, Sayner, Eagle River, Tomahawk, Laona, Crivitz, Oconto, Peshtigo, Algoma, Sturgeon Bay, and Ellison Bay

Central

Central Wisconsin boasts many outdoor opportunities in an area that could best be described as “heartland.” Touring this region you can see why Wisconsin is known as America’s Dairyland, as there are pastoral fields and cows grazing across the landscape.

Wausau offers downhill skiing, hiking, and numerous quality golf courses. Visitors to Stevens Point enjoy fishing the Wisconsin River or the 5,000 acre Lake DuBay. Snowmobilers also enjoy the thousands of miles of trails in the area—there are 884 miles of snowmobile trails in Marathon County alone. And finally, Central Wisconsin is home to Wisconsin Dells, the “Waterpark Capital of the World,” a town of 3,000 that swells to many times that size in summer. Other notable towns in this region include Thorp, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Wauwatoma, and Shawano.

East Central

East Central Wisconsin is a landscape defined by two lakes—the massive 137,000 acre Lake Winnebago and the Lake Michigan coastline. Lake Winnebago is a hotspot for fishing—with abundant populations of panfish, walleye, sturgeon, and catfish, as well as musky, northern pike, and bass—and watersports including sailing, windsurfing, and kiting.

On the shoreline of Lake Winnebago rest some of the area’s greatest towns. Oshkosh is home to the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. A testament to backyard builders everywhere, AirVenture is the world’s greatest celebration of aviation as thousands of experimental aircraft builders descend on the town for one week each summer. It is an amazing scene and people travel for tens of thousands of miles to see it.

The Lake Michigan shoreline in this region of the state features sandy beaches galore for picnicking or beachcombing. Lighthouses, sailboats, and charter vessels contribute to the rugged nautical feel of the area.  Other notable towns in this region include Appleton, Waupaca, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Manitowoc/Two Rivers, Howards Grove, Plymouth, Waupun, Neenah, and Menasha.
